NEW DELHI — The Central Board of Secondary Education has granted Class 12 students an additional 35 hours to submit applications for scanned copies of their answer sheets, following persistent technical disruptions that hampered access to the online portal for three consecutive days.
The application window, which was originally scheduled to remain open from May 19 to May 22, has now been extended until May 23, according to reports. The decision came after numerous complaints flooded in from students and parents who were unable to complete their applications due to system malfunctions and server issues during the designated period.
The facility to access scanned answer sheets allows students to review their evaluated responses before deciding whether to apply for re-evaluation or verification of marks. This provision has become increasingly important as students seek transparency in the assessment process, particularly given the competitive nature of college admissions where even marginal mark differences can significantly impact future academic prospects.
Technical glitches in CBSE's digital infrastructure have periodically affected students in recent years, raising concerns about the Board's preparedness to handle high-traffic situations. The latest incident underscores the need for robust technological systems as the education sector continues its digital transformation, especially when such platforms directly impact the academic futures of lakhs of students across the country.
