As mental health awareness grows across Bihar and India, practitioners of alternative healing are drawing attention to the concept of grey auras—a phenomenon they describe as visible energy fields that reflect deep emotional fatigue. Unlike permanent aura colours, grey shades are considered temporary indicators of unresolved stress, grief, and psychological burden.
Dr Anjali Sharma, a wellness counsellor in Patna, explains that while aura reading remains outside conventional medicine, the underlying symptoms—chronic exhaustion, persistent negativity, and emotional numbness—are clinically recognized mental health concerns. "Whether we call it a grey aura or burnout, the body's response to prolonged stress is real and requires attention," she notes.
Traditional healing methods suggest specific crystals like clear quartz and amethyst for emotional restoration, alongside meditation and breathing exercises. These practices align with yoga and mindfulness techniques increasingly recommended by mental health professionals. Bihar's government health schemes, including the Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojana, now cover psychiatric consultations, making professional support more accessible.
Experts emphasize that persistent emotional exhaustion warrants medical evaluation. While crystal therapy and aura healing may complement wellness routines, they should not replace evidence-based mental health treatment. The integration of traditional wisdom with modern healthcare offers a holistic approach to addressing Bihar's growing mental health challenges.
