As India faces the gradual decline of indigenous cattle breeds, OYMOM-backed platform GauVansh.in is building a genomic intelligence infrastructure designed to preserve the country’s biological heritage through data.
The platform combines DNA records, disease history, milk phenotypes, pedigree information and field-level verification to generate a comprehensive GauVansh Score for indigenous livestock. Unlike conventional livestock databases, GauVansh aims to create a digital identity layer that can support farmers, veterinarians, researchers, insurers and policymakers.
According to the company, the platform currently operates across all 38 districts of Bihar and has already onboarded more than 50,000 OTP-verified animals. The intelligence generated through GauVansh powers multiple products within OYMOM’s sovereign livestock ecosystem, including PashuSOS.AI, NandiBaba.AI, PashuSevak Bharat and NADIS.
The company describes GauVansh as the “biological intelligence layer” for India’s indigenous livestock, transforming fragmented field data into a long-term national asset. By integrating genomic insights with disease surveillance and veterinary response systems, the platform aims to strengthen breed conservation, improve livestock health outcomes and support evidence-based policy decisions.
With indigenous breeds under increasing pressure, GauVansh represents a new approach to livestock preservation—one that combines rural knowledge with artificial intelligence and genomic infrastructure.
